BESQ Events seeks to bring reimagined event resources and services to Mid-Coast and Central Maine. BESQ Events now has linens, china, tables, chairs, glassware and décor and we are in process of bringing on tents, equipment and event accessories late summer 2023.

About Us

As President of BESQ Events, managing owner Jessica Nixon brings a unique collection of experience and education. In addition to managing large scale public organizations, Jessica has significant experiences in the hospitality industry, customer service and operations, and spent a great deal of her earlier career in local Maine events and hotels in busy coastal communities, including beautiful OceanCliff Hotel, Samoset Resort and Inn by the Sea. Jessica has a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration with a Marketing Concentration from the University of Maine; a Master in Hospitality Administration and Masters in Business Administration both from Southern New Hampshire University, and a Certification in Human Resources Management from the University of Southern Maine.  Jessica is a Notary for the State of Maine and holds an active Maine Associate Broker Real Estate license, affiliated with Coldwell Banker Realty in Brunswick.

Jessica’s husband Matt Nixon is Assistant Manager supporting operations related to the rentals division. Matt currently is Chief Executive Officer and General Operations Manager of Muddy River Farm Aquaponics, LLC in Topsham, Maine. Matt has a Master’s Degree in Coastal and Marine Policy and Law from the University of Rhode Island, a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Southern Maine, and is currently in his final year of work on his PhD in Biological Oceanography at the University of Maine. Matt currently also serves on Topsham’s Selectboard, the Sagadahoc County Budget Advisory Committee, Land Owner Relations Chair for the Topsham Trail Riders Association, Apprentice Mason, and is a Director for Cathance River Education Alliance.

Jessica and Matt reside with their young daughters in Topsham, Maine on their small farm with laying ducks and hens, oysters, rainbow trout, and loving dog. Volunteering in various organizations, Matt and Jessica also seek out various ways to be involved with their local community.
